Who We Are
Lookstyle Founder, CEO, Celebrity Stylist
“Your style is the first thing people notice about you when they meet you. What does your style say about you? I realized that I wanted to teach others how to use their appearance to their best advantage: both professionally and personally.”
After earning her degree in Art: Painting and Drawing from Saint Mary’s College, Notre Dame, and an advanced degree from the Art Institute of Chicago, Kellie Trumper realized her passion in fashion. Her styling career began 13 years ago at Neiman Marcus. This kicked off an 11 year stint of wowing retailers and designers at Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Ave, Intermix and David Yurman. The turning point came during her career managing Intermix; Trumper began to notice a unique need for ‘concierge’ fashion styling.
During her career in retail, Kellie worked overtime as she earned her Masters in Education. This training allowed Kellie to hone her voice and gave her the tools to educate her clients as well as to speak publicly on image and style matters. Kellie recalls that it was her clients who encouraged her to forge her own way. Following their good advice, Kellie founded Lookstyle, a luxury wardrobe-consulting firm, in early 2011.
With clients in Chicago, Los Angeles, Michigan, Aspen, Florida, NYC - Kellie is always on the go, constantly scouting new trends on both coasts. Trumper is one of the recognized stylists in the Best of 2012 CS/Modern Luxury January Issue. She styles high profile athletes and celebrities nationwide. Trumper has been published in The Red Eye (Chicago Tribune) Cover story: From Runway to Chicago, she has a monthly column in VS Magazine, her interview with Rob Luce, Eliminating Excess Fashion, was featured in Monochrome Effect. Lookstyle has also been featured in Refinery 29, Glossed and Found, Chicago Shopping.
Trumper is also committed to making sure that Lookstyle gives back. She has also played an impactful role working with charities, hosting a fundraiser benefitting Bright Pink which earned the attention of MSNBC, FOX, and NBC. She partnered again with Bright Pink, EBAY Giving Works and LeAnn Rimes to host an online auction raising money for the charity. In 2013 she worked with Carlos Boozer, NBA Star of the Chicago Bulls, to help The Right to Play foundation. She also worked with LeAnn Rimes and The Miracles for Kids to organize a clothing drive in Los Angeles. She has been a consistent fashion TV correspondent on FOX 32 Chicago Good Day Chicago and for ABC National TV show, “The List”.
In addition to her work with celebrities; Kellie loves to focus on the every day person. “Fashion can be overwhelming and intimidating. It takes time and patience to weed though all the trends and figure out what will fit YOUR body, YOUR lifestyle, and YOUR budget.” She encourages every client to take time for themselves and rediscover their sense of style. Too often people get “stuck” in a past decade of fashion. Having a closet makeover helps them to edit, purge and uncover their wardrobe in an organized and calculated way. During this process, Trumper teaches clients how to sort out what to save and what to toss. “My goal is NEVER to start out by purchasing a new wardrobe each season, it is to re-purpose and re-define your most loved and flattering parts of your wardrobe. Getting dressed should be EASY”, says Trumper.
Kellie is available for Speaking Engagements, please get in touch with Lookstyle for more information.
Personal Stylist & Client Relations Manager
Katlyn graduated from Columbia College in 2010 with a major in Fashion Design and Retail Management. Prior to joining the Lookstyle team, Katlyn worked for various retailers such as Bebe and Bloomingdale’s as well as interned for local Chicago designers and stylists. One of her biggest fashion experiences was when she studied Trend Forecasting and Styling in Paris for a semester, which she says sparked her a great deal of the insight she has today. She has a passion for helping clients feel confident about themselves and believes that helping people feel good through the way they dress is key.
Outside of fashion, Katlyn has a strong affection for animals, and is a volunteer at PAWS animal shelter in her spare time.
Lizzy graduated from the University of Arizona with a BS in Retailing and Consumer Science in 2005, and added a Fashion Design Associate’s degree from the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) the following year. In addition to designing for companies like Guess?, she’s worked in merchandising and customer service for companies like Nordstrom, BCBG, and Banana Republic. She’s thrilled to be sharing her experience in garment construction, fit, and styling with Lookstyle’s clients. Lizzy loves helping people find their personal style, and believes it’s a powerful tool for self-expression. “I think personal style is an important piece of a person’s identity- you can show the world who you are and what’s important to you without saying a word.”
Lizzy describes her personal style as “classic tomboy meets California bohemian, with a dash of rock ‘n roll.” She attributes her eclectic taste to the numerous people she’s worked with over the years, absorbing fresh ideas from customers, designers, and people on the street.
Chrissy is graduating from DePaul University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism this June. After graduating, she will move out to Los Angeles and attend the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) to study Merchandise Marketing. In addition to working for Intermix and various boutiques, Chrissy has worked as a costume design intern for A Conspiracy on Jekyll Island, an indie movie that will be released in October. Her favorite part about styling is the final overjoyed reaction of the client after putting together a perfect outfit. She loves helping people feel beautiful in their clothes—she believes that nothing is more important than self-confidence. She hopes to become a buyer, a personal stylist, and a freelance fashion writer. Chrissy’s style changes from day to day, but she never forgets to put something edgy into her daily ensemble. You can always find her in something leather, black, fur (usually all of the above.)
